Aside from rapping, Ja Rule has an established a career as an actor.
Coronavirus and the Covid-19 pandemic has annihilated many businesses, especially small and family owned businesses. Ja Rule decided to help small businesses out of kindness, and well because he loves Greek food too.
In the artist’s “commercial videos”, he is helping raise these small businesses profiles, so we can all get back to the business of eating out, which will help our community survive these pandemic times.
Kudos to Ja Rule for using his mega-star power as activism for promoting good food. The rapper did NOT receive money for this video. He did this funny-lovely commercial to help promote Papa Cristos, his neighbourhood Greek restaurant that has been there for 70 years. This is the first in a planned series of small businesses promotions, according to the rapper.
“My heart goes out to these businesses, so today I am helping out Papa Cristos, this spot has been around for 70 years, it is a staple in the community of Los Angeles.”
“But like most mom and pop shops here, they have had a tough year. So, I am going to be using my notoriety, my fame to help them out…in a show that I created called, Pitch Perfect.” – Ja Rule.
The video is both hilarious and heartwarming. It almost seems like it is a freestyle, go with the flow script, which works perfectly for speaking to a Greek-food loving audience whom for the life of them cannot pronounce the menu items.
“Papa Cristos has got the best Mother—- Gyros, Geeros…so good makes my lips tinkle.”
Watch him try to pronounce “Avgolemono soup”, priceless.
Opa to you Ja Rule!
